USABCI Convenes U.S. Private-Sector Partners for Meeting with General Secretary and President To Lam on the Vietnam Wartime Accounting Initiative

NEW YORK, September 23, 2026 — The US-ASEAN Business Council Institute (USABCI), the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), today convened U.S. private-sector representatives contributing to the Vietnam Wartime Accounting Initiative (VWAI) for an engagement with His Excellency To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party and State President of Vietnam.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, highlighted the role of the U.S. private sector in supporting Vietnam's efforts to locate and identify its war missing and in strengthening humanitarian cooperation and reconciliation between the two countries.

USABCI was represented at the meeting by Amb. Brian McFeeters (ret.), President & CEO of USABC. ​ Joining the meeting were representatives of U.S. companies who have contributed to the project including Atlas Air, Cultural Vistas, Lockheed Martin, Meta, and QIAGEN.

The meeting built on the momentum of USABCI's June 2026 delegation to Vietnam, during which Cultural Vistas, Lockheed Martin, and QIAGEN announced their contributions of advanced equipment, education, training, and technical support for Vietnam's wartime accounting and reconciliation efforts.

To date, the VWAI has received more than $700,000 in contributions from the private sector, helping Vietnam build capacity in archival research, field operations, forensic capabilities, and promote technical exchanges and information sharing.
