USABC Singapore Business Mission Marks 60 Years of U.S.-Singapore Relations, Expands Technology Collaborations

(Singapore) The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) successfully concluded its 2026 Singapore Business Mission from May 5 to 7, convening a delegation of 21 U.S. companies for high-level engagements with the Singapore Government. The mission, held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of U.S.-Singapore bilateral relations, reaffirmed the U.S. private sector's commitment to advancing trade, investment, and technology partnerships with Singapore at a time of accelerating technological change and a shifting global landscape.

The delegation was co-led by USABC's President & CEO, Ambassador Brian D. McFeeters (ret), and USABC’s Singapore Committee Chair, Oracle, represented by Matis Pellerin, Vice President for Global Government Affairs.

"Singapore plays a central role in shaping the future of trade, technology, and innovation in Southeast Asia," said Ambassador McFeeters. "For U.S. companies, Singapore offers a platform to innovate and grow regionally. As Singapore prepares for the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027, we see a clear opportunity to deepen and expand partnerships here," he added.

Over the four-day mission, the delegation discussed concrete ways that the U.S. private sector can advance Singapore’s priorities in the AI economy and strengthen resilient, future-ready supply chains. The delegation met with the following senior government officials: Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies Ong Ye Kung, Senior Minister of State for Health and Manpower Dr. Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment Zaqy Mohamad, Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency Singapore David Koh, Chief Executive (Designate) of the Cyber Security Agency Singapore Gwenda Fong, Chief Executive Officer of the National Research Foundation John Lim and Deputy Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore Leong Sing Chiong. The delegation was also received by U.S. Embassy Singapore’s Chargé d'Affaires Graham Mayer. The delegation will also be meeting with the Ministry for Digital Development and Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore Economic Development Board, and Enterprise Singapore at a later date.

"Singapore is a global leader in digital transformation and the adoption of emerging technologies, particularly AI,” said Pellerin. "Oracle is proud to partner with the Singapore Government to support its national AI ambitions and deliver secure platforms across various sectors that enable innovation, strengthen public sector capabilities, and support continued economic growth,” he added.
