USABC Leads U.S. Food & Agriculture Industry Delegation to Bangkok, Advancing Agri-Food Partnership with Thailand's New Government

(Bangkok, Thailand) — From August 26–27, the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) successfully led a delegation of leading U.S. Food and Agriculture businesses to Bangkok for its inaugural Food and Agriculture Industry Mission to Thailand. Held under the theme "Elevating Thailand's Agri-Food Future: Innovation, Sustainability, and High-Value Growth," the mission was co-led by USABC's Chief Country Representative of Thailand Praab Pianskool and USABC Food & Agriculture Committee Leadership, Bayer and Corteva Agriscience. The mission marked USABC's first dedicated Food & Agriculture Industry Mission to Thailand in several years, convening senior executives and high-level officials from the Royal Thai Government, reaffirming the U.S. private sector's commitment to supporting Thailand's agricultural modernization agenda.

During the two-day mission, the delegation identified opportunities to support Thailand's agricultural priorities by promoting a transparent and predictable regulatory environment for investment; strengthening agricultural productivity, advancing food safety, animal health outcomes, supply chain efficiency; harnessing R&D, and expanding market access for U.S. inputs and technologies that support Thailand's integration into sustainable global agri-food value chains.

The delegation met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; Chief Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives; as well as senior officials from the Royal Thai Government, including representatives from the Ministry of Finance; the Ministry of Commerce; the Ministry of Public Health; the Thailand Board of Investment; and the House Committee on Agriculture and Cooperatives. The delegation also met with the representatives from the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) at the U.S. Embassy Bangkok and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

"Thailand's agri-food sector presents a tremendous opportunity for deeper collaboration between U.S. industry and the Royal Thai Government," said Praab Pianskool, USABC's Chief Country Representative of Thailand. "Our member companies are eager to support Thailand's transition toward high-value, sustainable agriculture and look forward to strengthening this partnership as Thailand builds a more resilient and competitive agricultural economy."

Member companies that participated in the 2026 Food & Agriculture Industry Mission to Thailand include Bayer, Corteva Agriscience, Cargill, Elanco Animal Health, MSD Animal Health, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Tyson Foods.
