USABC Leads Delegation of Top U.S. Food & Agriculture Companies to Vietnam

(Hanoi, Vietnam) – From July 30-31, the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) successfully facilitated a delegation of five prominent U.S. food and agriculture companies for a series of meetings with key officials in Hanoi, Vietnam. The business mission was co-led by USABC’s Deputy Regional Managing Director & Chief Representative Vu Tu Thanh and USABC’s Food & Agriculture Committee Chair, Cargill, represented by Le Thi Phuong Hoa, Government Affairs Director at Cargill Vietnam. Other member companies who participated include Corteva Agriscience, Elanco Animal Health, Illumina, and Tyson Foods. 

The delegation met with senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), and the National Assembly Committee on Economic Affairs. ​ 

The mission focused on deepening U.S. business engagements with Vietnam’s key food and agriculture agencies in the areas of food safety, animal health, innovative agri-tech, and sustainable agriculture solutions. The delegation discussed strategies to support Vietnam’s priorities in food resiliency, particularly in fostering sustainable agriculture resilient to climate change and technologically innovative farming practices. ​
