USABC Food & Agriculture Delegation Engages Vietnamese Leaders to Strengthen Partnership for a Sustainable and Resilient Agri-Food Sector
(Hanoi, Vietnam)— From July 29 – 30, the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) successfully led a delegation of leading U.S. Food and Agriculture businesses to Hanoi for its 2026 Food and Agriculture Industry Mission to Vietnam. Held under the theme “Partnering for a Greener Future: Driving Innovation and Resilience in Vietnam’s Agri-Food Sector”, the mission was co-led by USABC’s Acting Regional Managing Director and Chief Country Representative of Vietnam Vu Tu Thanh and USABC Food & Agriculture Committee Leadership, Bayer, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. The mission convened senior executives and high-level officials from the Government of Vietnam, reaffirming the U.S. private sector's commitment to supporting Vietnam's green growth and agricultural modernization agenda.
During the two-day mission, the delegation identified opportunities to support Vietnam's agricultural priorities by enhancing production capacity and supply chain efficiency, promoting a transparent and predictable regulatory environment, and expanding market access to strengthen Vietnam's integration into sustainable global food and agriculture value chains.
The delegation met with senior officials from the Government of Vietnam, including the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; the Director General of the Vietnam Food Administration at the Ministry of Health; the Director General of the Vietnam Industry Agency at the Ministry of Industry and Trade; the Vice Chairman of the Commission for Standards, Metrology, and Quality of Vietnam (STAMEQ) at the Ministry of Science and Technology; the Deputy Director General of the Foreign Investment Agency at the Ministry of Finance; and a Standing Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology, and Environment. The delegation also met with representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi.
"Vietnam's agri-food sector presents a tremendous opportunity for deeper collaboration between U.S. industry and the Government of Vietnam," said Vu Tu Thanh, USABC Acting Regional Managing Director and Chief Country Representative for Vietnam. "Our member companies are eager to support Vietnam's modernization goals across the agricultural value chain and look forward to strengthening this partnership as Vietnam builds a more sustainable and resilient agri-food sector."
Companies who participated in the 2026 Food & Agriculture Industry Mission to Vietnam include ADM, Bayer, Cargill, Coca-Cola Vietnam, Elanco Animal Health, MSD Animal Health, and PepsiCo.
