USABC Delegation Engages with Vietnamese Health Agencies during its 10th Annual Health & Life Sciences Industry Mission to Hanoi

(Hanoi) – The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) convened a delegation of 11 leading American companies in Hanoi on March 20-21, 2025, for its 10th consecutive Health & Life Sciences (HLS) Industry Mission to Vietnam. This year’s mission comes at a pivotal moment, following significant restructuring within the Vietnamese government. As one of the first international delegations to engage with Vietnam’s new leadership, the USABC delegation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral collaboration in the health and life sciences sector.

The delegation was led by Ambassador Brian McFeeters, Senior Vice President & Regional Managing Director of USABC. Throughout the mission, the delegation gained critical insights into Vietnam’s evolving healthcare policies and priorities. The discussions centered around administrative reforms, legal frameworks, market access, insurance and technology transfer, with the U.S. private sector expressing its full support as a trusted partner.

"The ongoing transformation within Vietnam’s healthcare landscape presents new opportunities for U.S. companies to collaborate with the government in advancing medical innovation, healthcare technology, and preventive healthcare," said Ambassador McFeeters. "USABC remains dedicated to facilitating these dialogues and ensuring that American businesses can play a meaningful role in supporting Vietnam’s healthcare goals."

A key addition to this year’s program was a Workshop on Preventive Healthcare, held as part of the Mission. The Council presented key findings from its research paper, "Advancing Preventive Health in Southeast Asia: Recommendations for Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam," developed with the support of steering committee members. The workshop provided a platform for industry leaders and policymakers to discuss actionable recommendations to strengthen Vietnam’s preventive healthcare framework. Key topics included policy development, healthcare access, and sustainable financing solutions aimed at improving long-term health outcomes in Vietnam.

The 2025 Vietnam HLS Mission delegation included leading companies from pharmaceuticals, medical devices, nutrition, and healthcare innovation, including Boston Scientific Vietnam, Edwards Lifesciences, Illumina, Johnson & Johnson (Vietnam) Co., Ltd, Medtronic Vietnam Company Limited, Pfizer (Vietnam) Limited Company, Solventum, Tilleke & Gibbins (Vietnam) Ltd., Viatris Vietnam Limited Company, and Zuellig Pharma.
