USABC and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Host Business Roundtable with Ministry of Finance of Indonesia and Bank Indonesia

Washington, D.C. — On April 15, on the sidelines of the World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings, the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce co-hosted a high-level business roundtable featuring Minister of Finance of Indonesia Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa and Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warijyo. The Roundtable brought together more than 30 companies across a range of industry sectors. USABC Vice President of Research, Technology, and Financial Services, Mario Masaya, moderated the discussion and highlighted USABC's recently released whitepaper, "Beyond Borders: Advancing an Inclusive and Resilient Digital Financial Future for ASEAN."

During the roundtable, Minister Purbaya and Governor Perry outlined Indonesia's priorities for 2026, the government’s strategy to manage oil price volatility, and the current state of U.S.-Indonesia trade relations. USABC member companies further reaffirmed their commitment to partnering with the Government of Indonesia as it works to bolster its financial markets competitiveness, digital payments ecosystem, and cross-border interoperability.

"USABC’s recent whitepaper underscores the need for a robust financial ecosystem built on open standards, responsible AI adoption, and cross-border interoperability, where regulation keeps pace with innovation,” said Mario Masaya. "Indonesia remains central to the conversation on digital financial innovation, and today's dialogue with Minister Purbaya and Governor Perry made clear that greater public-private collaboration will drive the path forward,” he added.
