US-ASEAN Business Council Leads High-Level Business Delegation to Cambodia to Strengthen Trade and Investment Ties

(12/03/25) Phnom Penh, Cambodia — The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) concluded a high-level business mission to Cambodia, reaffirming the U.S. private sector’s long-term commitment to the country’s economic modernization and development efforts.

A delegation of senior executives from 12 leading American companies in the energy, manufacturing, financial services, and tourism sectors met with top Cambodian officials to advance cooperation on trade, digital transformation, supply-chain diversification, and responsible investment.

The mission included engagements with Prime Minister Hun Manet and key members of his economic cabinet. Discussions focused on practical steps to strengthen digital infrastructure, address Cambodia’s energy needs, broaden financial inclusion, and enhance the regulatory reforms needed to increase Cambodia’s regional competitiveness.

“American companies see tremendous potential in Cambodia’s continued economic growth and its role in the future of ASEAN,” said Amb. Ted Osius, USABC’s Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director. “This mission underscores our commitment to partnering with the Royal Government to unlock new investment, support Cambodia’s development agenda, and create long-term opportunities for the mutual benefit of our two countries.”

“We appreciate the Royal Government’s readiness to engage and its efforts to improve the investment environment for U.S. companies,” said Simonetta Verdi, Managing Director of Government Affairs for the International Markets Group at Ford Motor Company, USABC Board Member, and Chair of the Cambodia Committee.

The mission reinforced USABC’s role as a bridge between U.S. industry and the Cambodian government, offering policy recommendations and promoting a transparent, predictable, and business-friendly environment. The Council continues to advance collaboration in emerging technologies, cybersecurity, financial services, and sustainable energy—areas where U.S. companies provide global expertise.

The visit also reflects the deepening commercial relationship between Cambodia and the United States, one of Cambodia’s largest export markets and key economic partners. As Cambodia enters a new phase of growth, U.S. companies remain committed to supporting inclusive development, human capital advancement, and stronger regional connectivity.

USABC also announced the appointment of Mr. Dararith Lim as its first in-country Executive Strategic Advisor for Cambodia—the Council’s first such role in its 41-year history.
