US-ASEAN Business Council Launches "Bisnis AS Untuk Indonesia" Report

(Jakarta, Indonesia) The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) has launched the Bisnis AS untuk Indonesia (BISA) Report, highlighting the significant contributions of American companies to Indonesia’s economic resilience, human capital development, and industrial transformation. The report was unveiled in Jakarta, ahead of the 2025 U.S.-Indonesia Business Mission.

The launch event was attended by senior government officials, business leaders, and development partners, including Deputy Minister for Investment Promotion of BKPM Nurul Ichwan.

The BISA report showcases 35 U.S. companies that are actively investing in Indonesia’s future—through direct capital investment, workforce development, technology transfer, and community empowerment. From digital transformation and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to sustainable agriculture and industrial downstreaming, the report documents real stories of impact across sectors.

“This report paints a picture of how U.S. businesses are contributing to each of President Prabowo’s ambitious economic priority areas,” said Amb. Brian McFeeters (Ret.), President & CEO of USABC, “through direct investment, workforce development, and technology transfer.”

Between 2014 and 2023, U.S. companies committed approximately USD 67 billion in foreign direct investment to Indonesia, generating an estimated USD 128 billion in economic impact. These investments have helped create over 1 million jobs, trained more than 5 million individuals in digital skills, and supported over 300,000 people through health and social programs.

The report aligns closely with Indonesia’s Asta Cita priorities and President Prabowo Subianto’s focus on food security, energy transition, education reform, and industrialization. It also serves as a resource for policymakers, offering actionable insights and best practices to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

During the panel discussion, representatives from bp, Google, Corteva, and IBM shared real-world examples of how their companies are contributing to Indonesia’s national priorities. The panel underscored the importance of aligning corporate initiatives with Indonesia’s Asta Cita framework and emphasized the need for measurable impact, inclusive growth, and long-term partnerships.

The launch also served as a prelude to the Indonesia Business Mission 2025, which begins on Wednesday, October 15th. The Mission will bring together senior executives from several prominent American companies to engage with Indonesian government officials and explore new areas of cooperation in energy, digital transformation, industrialization, and inclusive growth.
