US-ASEAN Business Council Expands Presence in Cambodia with Appointment of Dararith Lim as Executive Strategic Advisor

(Phnom Penh) – The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) today announced the appointment of Dararith Lim as Executive Strategic Advisor for Cambodia, marking its first dedicated position in the country. While USABC has not yet established a permanent office in Cambodia, Mr. Lim’s appointment represents an important step toward building a stronger, sustained presence in Cambodia.

Mr. Lim brings more than two decades of leadership experience across corporate, healthcare, and advisory roles, with a proven track record of advancing public-private partnerships. He established GE Cambodia in 2008 and served as President & CEO for over 13 years, leading major investments in energy, healthcare, and infrastructure while facilitating more than $18 million in philanthropic contributions through the GE Foundation to expand healthcare access and training. He also served as CEO of both a local and an international hospital, where he strengthened clinical excellence and introduced international standards of care.

Beyond his executive roles, Mr. Lim has served on the Boards of the American University of Phnom Penh, Angkor Hospital for Children, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, as well as Vice Chair of USABC’s Cambodia Committee. His work has consistently emphasized fostering investment, building trust, and aligning global corporate engagement with Cambodia’s national priorities.

“We are delighted to welcome Dararith to the Council’s regional team,” said Ambassador Ted Osius, Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director of the US-ASEAN Business Council. "His deep expertise and credibility in Cambodia will strengthen our ability to support member companies, especially on special projects, and expand opportunities for U.S.-Cambodia cooperation. This is the first step towards building a more permanent presence in Phnom Penh, which we believe will benefit both American businesses and Cambodia’s development,” he added.

“I am honored to take on the role of Executive Strategic Advisor to the US-ASEAN Business Council for Cambodia,” said Dararith Lim. “At the heart of Asia, Cambodia offers tremendous opportunities to collaborate with U.S. companies—building human capacity, strengthening industries, and creating sustainable growth that benefits both our people and businesses.”

With this appointment, USABC underscores its commitment to Cambodia and its mission to promote trade and investment that drives shared prosperity across ASEAN.
