US-ASEAN Business Council Co-Hosts Gala Dinner for Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul during 81st UN General Assembly

(NEW YORK, NY – September 23, 2026) — The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce co-hosted a gala dinner in honor of His Excellency Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The occasion marked Prime Minister Anutin’s first official visit to the United States since taking office following the 2026 Thailand General Election.

Prime Minister Anutin outlined the Royal Thai Government’s economic strategy to strengthen Thailand’s competitiveness, accelerate investment, advance regulatory reforms, and expand U.S.-Thailand trade. He highlighted growing investment momentum and opportunities for deeper cooperation with U.S. businesses, while inviting American executives to provide direct feedback on regulatory barriers and practical reforms to strengthen Thailand’s investment environment.

Prime Minister Anutin was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun; Minister of Digital Economy and Society Chaichanok Chidchob; Minister of Public Health Pattana Promphat; and Ambassador of Thailand to the United States Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, among other senior Thai government officials.

Looking ahead, the US-ASEAN Business Council will host its annual 2026 Thailand Business Mission from November 3–5 in Bangkok, bringing senior executives to engage directly with the Government of Thailand to align U.S. private sector with the administration's policy priorities, promoting business-conducive environment, and deepen bilateral economic cooperation.
