2026 Bisnis AS untuk Indonesia (BISA) Report Launch Highlights U.S. Companies’ Contributions to Indonesia’s Innovation and Economic Development

Jakarta, Indonesia – The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, launched the 2026 Bisnis AS untuk Indonesia (BISA) Report, themed “Innovation for Indonesia’s Future: How U.S. Companies Support Indonesia’s Talent, Competitiveness, and Resilience” on September 16, 2026.

The Report provides an overview of U.S. business activities in Indonesia between 2020 and 2026, highlighting their contributions across key sectors and areas of Indonesia’s development, in support of the nation’s goal of 8% economic growth and Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia 2045).

“U.S. companies that have been present in Indonesia for decades have been part of this journey through innovation-driven investments, technology partnerships, research collaborations, and capacity building,” said Marc Mealy, Executive Vice President of Research and Chief Policy Officer, USABC.

The 2026 BISA Report identified 91 innovation initiatives from 43 U.S. companies in Indonesia between 2020 and 2026. The initiatives span a range of sectors, including digital technology, energy, agriculture, and financial services, demonstrating how U.S. companies are investing in talent development and workforce upskilling to improve business competitiveness and economic resilience in Indonesia.

The Launch brought together representatives from the Government of Indonesia, U.S. Embassy, business associations, media partners, and USABC member companies to discuss the significance of innovation-led growth to Indonesia’s future.

“Economic growth requires investment that builds a skilled workforce, strengthens business competitiveness, and lays the foundation for sustainable progress over the long term. The experience of U.S. companies demonstrated how innovation-driven investment can serve as a key driver of this growth. As an organization representing over 180 U.S. companies across ASEAN, including Indonesia, we hope this report contributes to broader efforts to advance innovation, strengthen partnerships, and foster greater dialogue among stakeholders to unlock new opportunities for Indonesia’s future,” concluded Marc.

USABC extends its appreciation to the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta for its support throughout the BISA initiative, and for its continued partnership in strengthening U.S.-Indonesia economic engagement.
